I'm from Michigan, born and raised… which probably doesn't sound all that exciting, unless you know what the Great Lakes state has to offer! It is surrounded by the longest freshwater coastline and you are never more than 6 miles from a fresh water source (thanks for that Wikipedia!!). Now this may be fact or made up, but I wouldn't doubt there is also a brewery within 6 miles as well. If not a brewery, someone that is coming up with some pretty tasty brews of their own.
One of my favorite things to do is go on weekend trips, either camping or otherwise. The beautiful thing about doing this in Michigan…access to the great breweries, wineries and distilleries!
The most recent trip was visiting a little lakeshore town called Union Pier, to the Garden Grove Bed and Breakfast (highly recommend…banana walnut pancakes? yes please!).
